Experiences: Installing Systinet UDDIv3 Registry

This document describes work items and experiences made when installing Systinets UDDIv3 Registry.

Install Tomcat Downloaded Tomcat 5.5.3 and placed it in my project.
Install JUDDI
  • Downloaded Systinet UDDI Registry v. 5.0-eval (JAR)
  • Downloaded Systinet UDDI Registry v. 5.0-patch-3-eval (JAR)
  • Requested 45 days evaluation key via email
  • Extracted jar-archive to read documentation (registry50/doc/index.html) first impression: very good documentation
  • executed the jar-archive as explained in the documentation (java -jar systinet-uddi-registry-5.0.jar)
  • good gui-mode installation (made my settings; leaving SMTP settings empty... don't know what to set)
  • realized that mysql is not supported...

    supported:
    • Preconfigured Hypersonic SQL
    • Oracle 8.1.6 or later
    • MSSQL 2000 or later
    • DB2 7.2 SP4 or later
    • PostgreSQL 7.3 or later
    • HSQL 1.7.1 or later
    • Sybase ASE 12.5 or later
  • choose inmemory-variant: Preconfigured HSQL, as recomended
  • printed setting summary at the end
  • installation ....finished successful ;)
  • testing at http://localhost:8085/uddi/web ... it works!
